Description

The red ouroboros, a traditional symbol of the Great Work of transformation, circles around the “squaring of the circle” symbol, an ancient alchemical symbol which represents the Philosopher’s Stone. Beginning as what was believed to be an impossible math equation of creating a circle within the square that had the same surface area, it is now understood by alchemists to represent what is known as “fixing the volatile”, or drawing spirit (circle) into matter (square). This suggests that to access the Philosopher’s Stone, one must be on a continuous journey of transformation.

The sanskrit glyphs of the 7 chakras on the right correlate to the 7 planetary glyphs on the left, representing the law of correspondence that is referred to in the Emerald Tablet through the infamous axiom, “As Above; So Below”.

This visual talisman is intended to invoke the spirit of Alchemy, reminding us that there is a divine correlation between the above and the below, and that through the art of inner alchemy, we have the ability to intentionally participate in this dance of drawing spirit into matter in the Great Work of achieving wholeness.
