While Aquarius is an air sign, she is traditionally known through ancient myth as the Water Bearer, one who distributes knowledge, life force and universal truths to humanity. In this context, water symbolizes the flow of ideas, which Aquarius is able to channel and share for the betterment of human kind.

The Egyptian sky goddess Nuit is often depicted pouring water from her celestial body which is adorned with stars and which arches over the earth. As the Cosmic Waterer, Nuit is an endless vessel of universal gifts. Her ideal messenger, Aquarius, carries these gifts back to the group mind so that they may work together to build a brighter, more blessed future.

“Queen’s Tears” frame this piece, known for making drop-like tears at the base of their flowers which attract pollinators. While Queen’s Tears are a traditional corresponding plant of Aquarius, I thought this was a perfect correspondence to Nuit as well, as both are the bearers of the water of important information, knowledge, life force, and sustenance that others benefit from.
