Description

The Black Madonna rose up in the middle ages as a sacred bridge between the Pagan and Christian worlds. Images and sculptures of her were said to have been miraculously discovered in unsuspecting, natural spaces… She was found embedded in the trunks of trees, nestled in the nooks of cliffs, enshrined in dark forests and in caves all across western Europe and later, the Americas.

Working with the Black Madonna is not for the faint of heart. She will make you face that which you try, consciously or not, to hide from and suppress. Like any powerful mother, she will make you face that which causes pain and imbalance in your life because she knows that your growth will be stunted otherwise. She encourages you to face your fears and she assures you that when you do gather the courage to do so she will infuse you with the kind of grace that can only lead to healing and reconciliation.
