Art is Alchemy

Being an artist in these times comes with its unique challenges but what will always thread every true artist throughout time together is their almost obsessive devotion to what lights them up inside and their need to give form to the spirit of that light.

Art IS alchemy.

Part of the artist’s devotion is expressed by keeping the passionate flame of creativity alight within not only ourselves as individuals, but perhaps more importantly, in the culture we belong to.

Goddess Brighid’s eternal flame, represented in this piece, is symbolic of the creative spirit of life itself and is something that is intentionally kept alight all year round by her priestesses— the swans…

The swans in many cosmologies, like the artist, are the guardians of creation itself… this is why artists in particular are wary of AI because rather than being creative, a trait that only belongs to the living (life creates life), AI is generative…

It isn’t able to experience the moving magick that comes with a lifetime of devoting oneself so completely and passionately to life and to humanity reaching its true potential.

What the creative spirit is in one word is love, and that is something that you will never find in a machine.
