Description
Egyptian Goddess Ma’at carries the ancient seven Principles of Truth, Balance, Order, Harmony, Reciprocity, Propriety, and Justice, into being. During the times of Egypt’s greatest spiritual heights, life was to be lived in such a way that these principles guided all actions and relationships. The ancient myth tells us that every Egyptian’s fate was determined at their death in the Weighing of the Heart ceremony, facilitated by Ma’at.
Those who’s hearts weighed heavier than Ma’at’s feather of truth, would have their souls torn a part, essentially entering the void of black nothingness. Those who’s hearts were lighter than a feather, or in perfect balance, would proceed to the Field of Reeds, a heavenly place where their souls would be able to commune with the Gods.
The setting (or falling) Sun in this image represents how Libra season marks a symbolic conscious resurgence of Ma’at’s principals. She is a beautiful representation of Libra’s ideals of balance, and pursuing the truth through a lens of righteous justice.
This visual talisman is intended to invoke the spirit of Ma’at, promoting a clear understanding of the nuances surrounding the truth, and the knowing of how to be in right relationship with All.
